Where our listings come from

Bay Area Drops lists electronic and rave events across the Bay Area. No single feed powers the site. We find events in many places, then check the date, venue and city against the venue's or ticketer's own page before listing. Genre tags are our own. We don't copy them from any source.

Community and aggregator listings (how we find leads)

• 19hz.info – Long-running community calendar of Bay Area electronic events. We use it as a lead source and credit it where it is the origin of a listing.
• Resident Advisor (ra.co) – Club and festival listings, strong for techno and house.
• EDMTrain – Headliner-focused EDM calendar for the SF Bay.
• Funcheap SF – Free and low-cost parties and day events.

Ticketing platforms (where tickets live)

• Dice – Ticketing for many SF clubs and promoters.
• Eventbrite – One-off raves and independent promoters.
• Ticketmaster / Live Nation – Theater and arena shows.
• Shotgun – Underground and warehouse promoters.
• Posh – Smaller promoter events.

Venue and promoter calendars (primary sources)

We read the calendars of Bay Area venues directly, including DNA Lounge, Public Works, Audio, Halcyon, The Midway, The Great Northern, F8, Monarch, 1015 Folsom, Temple, The Endup, Cat Club, Crybaby and the Fox Theater in Oakland, plus promoter pages. When a venue or promoter publishes the event, that page is the one we link.

Social

• Instagram – Venue and promoter flyers, often the first place a last-minute party appears. We confirm each one against a ticket or venue page before listing.

Readers

• Reader submissions – Promoters, artists and fans send events in. We verify each one before it goes live.
